Où sont tes idoles mal rasées, bien habillées

A band for every year old i am and what they remind me of.

1. The Used
"Under Pressure" ft. My Chemical Romance

depends on the song it reminds me of a few people. "Smother Me" is one of my favourite romantic songs but reminds me of Taylor Lautner the actor because it's his favourite The Used song and i thought "hey i like that song too!"

and, hulse because The Used is one of his favourite bands and he would tell me about his friends and his band and we used to sing "pieces mended" at the top of our lungs :)

sonya and i listening to her ipod on the bus on the way to school :)

2. Moby
"Bond"

well, because of the title and what the song is about i think of Bond and i also think of the Borne Trilogy because Moby does the theme song for those movies too and it's awesome.

3. Unwritten Law
"Get Up"

i think of year 12 with lizzie and lex and music and vis art and those exams and jumping around liz's room head banging to this song haha.

4. Daft Punk
"Around The World"

this song in particular reminds me of the stake dance competition in 2008 when i danced with cherish and khenady in a flappers routine. we found a video on youtube of flapper footage put to this song and we would dance around to the song with our basic steps to warm up haha.

5. Tokio Hotel
"Ubers Ende Der Welt"

the band? Sonya because she introduced me to them and it was another bus band we listened to constantly. and this song in particular? performing it acoustically with alexis at carnivale '08.

6. The Presets
"Are You The One?"

created dance routines. this song in particular reminds me of ysa convention ball '08 for some reason.

7. Killswithch Engage
"My Curse"

guitar hero! and i love Killswitch Engage in general as it is a different branch of romantic music.

8. Saosin
"Bury Your Head"

vis arts bow quotes. hulse. mormons. i know, strange.

9. Kings Of Leon
"Use Somebody"

this song in particular, my stoic-trying to reassure myself song. the band? a band i actually used to dislike immensely, purely because i didn't like their music until i heard the song "closer". magic. i fell in love with that song and like Kings Of Leon now.

10. Angels & Airwaves
"Heaven"

hulse (a lot of bands are reminding me of him. probably because he either got me into them like A&A or we just both like them). this song in particular i used for a video i made for school about ANZACS in '08.

11. The Hives
"Puppet on A String"

i LOVE these guys! remind me of hsc music and exams hehe. and Christie and her antics. and kent's backyard dance because i timed it to "walk idiot walk" by The Hives and it's hilarious!

12. RED
"Already Over"

iwo jima. world war II. flags of our fathers. doc Bradley. vis art hsc bow. letters quotes. uncertain romance. god.

13. Coldplay
"Strawberry Swing"

Coldplay's latest album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends reminds me of Master And Commander (strange story i'm not even sure of haha) and Napoleonic war time. this song particularly? countryside, early 19th century, romance and lieutenants :)

14. Grinspoon
"More Than You Are"

Sonya and Australia day park concert watching Grinspoon perform live! woo! and this song (one of my favourites) being performed live.

15. Arctic Monkeys
"You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Staring Straight At Me"

The British music scene i long to be apart of :) anilla because she really belongs in that scene and she loves the brits music like arctic monkeys like me.

16. Fall Out Boy
"West Coast Smoker"

yessssss. this song in particualar, cabaret rock = me (oh hell yes). FOB's Infinity On High Album reminds me of tfy '07 with Katie and driving to and from the tfy location playing the cd non-stop haha. Folie A deux reminds me of ysa convention '08 travelling to it with Katie and playing singing along with it with the windows down and laughing our heads off. then, at convention, playing uno on the dormitory floor and singing FOB while listening to it from my little plug in amp. good times. i notice FOB seems to be a recurring theme for Katie and i. it's our band :)

17. Muse
"Hoodoo"

muse reminds me of school rock band and performing "starlight". learning "starlight" on piano and annoying the music teacher by playing it constantly. teaching my whole music class how to play it on all the instruments. Sonya and i playing it impromptu in public as she played the drums on anything she could find while i sang :)

18. Parkway Drive
"Carrion"

my first concert. romantic music takes a new turn. vis art hsc bow music. "carrion" is also my favourite song of PWD's and the first song of theirs i ever heard and fell in love with.
