the hurt locker

went and saw the hurt locker with my dad a few weeks ago. travelled all the way to chatswood and then went to the wrong cinemas but we got to the right one in time! and it was worth the trip. amazing movie. yes it's a war move, but it's not full of the blood and guts and horrifying imagery you might think. it explores the minds and emotions of soldiers fighting on a different sort of frontline. jeremy renner's character is interesting in his pursuit of adrenaline from all his near-death experiences and really made me think. and i could understand why he was doing it.

the hurt locker won 6 golden globes the other night, beating out avatar most of the time. avatar was great, but the hurt locker definitely deserved the awards. and kathryn bigelow, you amaze me. first K*19, then the hurt locker, whoever thinks females can't do war films, you've proved them wrong.

"war is a drug." - Christopher Hedges
first thing seen on opening screen. and with this quote in mind you delve into the movie that is the hurt locker. never more appropriate for a film.
