The Last Testimony As A Fijian Elder

My cousin Ty came back on the 15th of jan from Fiji where he served his mission for the last 2 years. We didn't hear much from Ty in reply to our letters because of the limited access to technology he had, but reading his sister Carli's blog kept me updated on what Ty had been up to and lifted me with the spirit, love and inspiration for the work he was doing. The last testimony Elder Triffitt sent just before returning home has only made me want to serve a mission so much more strongly:

"I know the Lord looks after those who put their trust in him. I know what I've done the last two years is no waste of time. It is an investment for me, the best one of my life. I have lifted others and I have been lifted. The Church will continue to grow. Nothing will stop it. I know it's true. I know God is a true loving Heavenly Father who knows and loves me perfectly. With him I am strong. I love you and look forward to meeting you again. Don't expect a king or a warrior to return. All you will get is a skinny, rough looking boy with a nice haircut and a big heart."

and made me think that being a little more humbler isn't such a bad thing : )
