the brides companion.

my mother bought me this delightful book today after i showed her the wedding dress the other day. she also paid for my pedicure without me knowing today. she is a considerate mother :)

i love the book as it is filled with pieces of trivia, information, history, stories and poetry (all things i love) about everything to do with the bride and the wedding from flowers and their meanings, to themes for bridal showers to superstitions and good luck charms for the wedding day.

i think i take a special interest in weddings and the symbolics of it as i consider it to be something sacred and joyful i will never personally partake in. not that i don't want to - quite the opposite. i just... never see it happening for me. and i've come to terms with this fact and i may be saddened but i take happiness from seeing and being involved in weddings whenever i can :)
