watched the two sunday session of the 180th general conference while in woollongong and found it very interesting and relevant. here are some of the notes i took from the talks aswell as the speakers and the links to their talks:

MORNING SESSION

PRESIDENT DIETER F. UCHTDORF

ELDER RICHARD G. SCOTT
- Church is important but the home provides the fundamentals.
- The Atonement is open forever for everyone.

ELDER DONALD L. HALLSTROM
- Only one source of true peace, the PRINCE OF PEACE.
- Don't focus on the negative.
- Deal with the matter directly and with all your strength. HOLD ON THY WAY. Turn to the Lord.
- Don't let earthly circumstances disable your spirituality.

CHERYL C. LANT

ELDER QUENTIN L. COOK
- The Last Supper introduced: the Sacrament, teaching love, the Holy Ghost offered as a comforter.
- Christ lives. Early Christians viewed Christ as sitting on a throne, not dying on a cross.
- "It is appropriate to disagree but not to be disagreeable."

PRESIDENT THOMAS S. MONSON

AFTERNOON SESSION

ELDER RUSSELL M. NELSON
- No Atonement = no immortality and no returning to God, meaning the family unit cannot continue after death.
- Family history is a communal and personal responsibility.

ELDER ROBERT D. HALES
- Understanding the hearts of youth, listening and interacting.
- "The saddest words of tongue and pen, are those that say: "What might have been.""

ELDER BRADLEY D. FOSTER
- "There is no greater good than motherhood."
- A distraction doesn't have to be evil to be effective.
- Follow your mothers, they know where to go, they've been down this road before.

ELDER JAMES B. MARTINO
- How we react to difficulties will determine our happiness and success during life.

ELDER GREGORY A. SCHWITZER
- We do not judge others, but we are required to make quick judgements.
- Shut off the noise of sin to open communication with the Spirit.
